Dr Matthew A. L. Gault

Matthew Gault is an anthropologist and PhD Graduate from the School of History, Anthropology, Philosophy, and Politics at Queen’s University Belfast. His research focuses on commemoration of the conflict in and about Northern Ireland, memoryscapes, storytelling, and reconciliation in rural and border areas, primarily County Fermanagh Northern Ireland. This research seeks to bring anthropology into deeper conversation with critical heritage and memory studies and emphasises the importance of local and grassroots memory work. He has worked as a Research Assistant on the Explaining Atheism project at Queen’s University Belfast and on one of the Explaining Atheism subprojects at Brunel University London.
